Low Heat Extraction
All of BRONZEBUM’s products start with whole organic Urucum seeds and are handmade from beginning to end. We use a low heat extraction process to create Urucum oil, which is the base of BB’s hard tanning lotion.

The organic Urucum seeds are simmered in Grape Seed Oil for a period of time on low heat. The process takes extra time because of the low heat but the reduced temperature ensures none of the antioxidants and nutrition are damaged during the process. The last thing we’d want is a bowl of Roucou oil without all the skin nourishing benefits!
Once the oil is complete, the process begins again with Raw Shea Butter and other ingredients to melt and combine them all together, on low heat! This step also takes extra time... but good things take time, and great things are worth waiting for. Don’t skimp on your skin!
